How to Overclock a Laptop Processor (Increase Ghz)

There are three Ways to overclock a laptop : tweaking the BIOS settings, use generic overclocking software to adjust the CPU voltage and timing, and with Intel and AMD programs designed specifically for Overclocking . The Intel and AMD overclocking programs like Turbo Boost and Overdrive respectively, work only with each company’s higher-end multi-core processors (more than 1 cores). Regardless of which method you employ, remember that overclocking voids any warranty your laptop may have and can permanently damage your laptop, a process called “Condition of Brick.” Careless laptop overclocking can help you create a rather expensive, if somewhat unusual, Happens.

#BIOS overclocking

1.
Read the allowed settings of your particular processor and motherboard on the manufacturer's website. These figures give you an idea of the “headroom” or overclocking capability your CPU and motherboard may have. Check forums for possible front-side bus multiplier resets. Become familiar with the terminology and physics involved before attempting any clock speed adjustments.

2.
Start your laptop and open the BIOS by clicking the F1, F3 or F8 or F10 key or some combination of keys instantly as the laptop begins its boot cycle. Check your manufacturer's website to find which one works for your Varients or model.

3.
Go to to the CPU settings . Several laptop makers including HP and Dell do not allow changes to be made in the CPU settings to protect the hardware and they are locked. Those that do permit overclocking warn users of the danger inherent to the procedure. If your machine does not allow access to the CPU settings, you need to try another method.

4.
Enable the CPU Host Clock Controller on the CPU settings page. Increase the CPU frequency or clock speed by approximately 6% and save the settings.

5.
Restart the laptop and check for stability. Repeat the process in 3 to 6 percent intervals until you reach 20-25 percent. If the operating system becomes unstable shut down the machine immediately and reduce the CPU frequency by 6 percent. Recheck for stability then.

#Generic Software Overclocking

1.
Download and install overclocking and stress testing software and follow the section 1, step 1 instructions,
Swipe upwards for instructions.

2.
Open the overclocking software and Go to the CPU settings page.

3.
Adjust the front-side bus multiplier upwards in 6 percent increase until you reach a 25 percent increase in clock speed or Frequency to make upward adjustments in the CPU clock speed.

4.
Use the stress testing software to test for stability for being safe.

#Turbo Boost and Overdrive Overclocking

1.
Download and open the Intel Turbo Boost or the AMD Overdrive software bundle and read the documentation Properly to have backups.

2.
Follow the directions given out in either manual. Do not try to increase clock speed beyond recommended parameters,It may Damage your processor or laptop.

3.
Stress-test,the final setting for at least 15 hours before deciding to keep the overclocking level you have set to change.

Things Needed for overclocking Processor :-

1.Overclocking software ✔

2.Lapping tools (optional) ✔

3.Laptop cooler (optional) ✔

#Warning before overclocking processor :-

Remove the battery when you're overclocking your laptop. If the laptop becomes unstable, pull or take out the power plug immediately from the Socket. Read and follow the repeated warnings given in the Intel and AMD overclocking manuals for safety.

#Tip for overcloking processor :-

Use a laptop fan-driven cooling base or similar cooling systems like cooling pad whenever you overclock to prevent Heat. Make sure the air intake and outlet on your laptop is clean and dust free. If you are familiar with the inside of your laptop, remove and clean the heatsink.also, check the temperature of the room for being more safer side.
